Gibraltar is only 35 mins drive, go across the border and enjoy its multi-ethnic culture, tax-free shopping and go to the top of the Rock for the 360 º views.

One of the best kept secrets and most beautiful cities in Europe is only 90 mins drive up the coast: Cádiz (or Gades as the Romans knew it) is the most continually occupied city in Europe. Its streets reek of nautical trades, fortunes made in shipping, its water-bound forts built to keep off the British pirates and buccaneers. The fantastic food market with tapas stands where you can try the products sold there.

The wonderful “malecon” built around the city with walkways and parks, filmed as Havana in so many films.
